a very, merry, sticky christmas

Every Christmas I run into the same exact problems.

Do I make my own gift tags or buy the cute ones at Target?
Do I buy the cute tags or buy the almost-as-cute $1 ones at Target?
Do I pay extra and get our return address printed on our Christmas card envelopes?
Do I pay to buy an oh-so-trendy handmade stamp for our Christmas card envelopes?
Do I send Christmas cards this year?
^^^HA, big fat JK on that one. Of course we have to send Christmas cards this year and every year. Wink.

A-n-y-w-a-y-s, I'm sure you all completely understand my first world Christmas problems, and I'm sure together we can overcome such trials and tribulations.

Enter StickerApp. They help people like us overcome holiday panic! There's more time to trim the tree when you're spending less time hyperventilating the holidays (no? too far with the alliteration?).

When StickerApp contacted me about customizing my own stickers I A) said YES (in bold, italics, and caps lock, obvi) and B) knew this was my answer to all problems gift tag and Christmas card envelope related. Basically StickerApp was my Come to Jesus moment, and I'm so glad I saw the light.

Now for those of you who are also like me in that you have online designed a lot of photo books that sit collecting dust on your shelves, then you're in luck because designing custom stickers was a lot like designing photo books. Read easy and fun. One photo upload here, one resizing there, add in a text box or two, move everything around twenty times before you're satisfied, and voi-freaking-la you have a masterpiece.

I made these ^^^ stickers to use as envelope seals for our Christmas cards because who doesn't love a chance to quote Home Alone?! Spoiler for anyone reading this who is going to get a Christmas card this year.
And then because I was having too much fun procrastinating work by designing stickers I decided to add in some small gift stickers to the mix. Let's just say this Christmas is going to be off the charts trendy.

And that's the story of how stickers changed my Christmas game for the better. Have you tried StickerApp yet?!

I received products for my honest review, but I mean, come on, these stickers make my presents and envelopes look like the cool kids in high school.

how to be me when dealing with phone cases

Wanna know what it's like to be me? It's pretty hard, so I hope you're ready.

In order to be me, you have to live by three very important life rules:
1) Always be vocal about things you do not like. The more vocal against these things, the better.
2) Always hide in shame when, 1 month-3 years after being vocal about said things you don't like, you suddenly like said things very much.
3) Be very picky. Choose one thing and stick with it forever.

There ya have it. I know what I do or don't like (except when I change my mind 99% of the time), and I'm always picky. This obviously translates into all areas of my life.

Example A: I used to make so much fun of cowboy boots. In fact, so much fun of is a phrase that does not accurately describe the level to which I was making fun of them. And now a pair lives in my closet and occasionally on my feet. Oops.

Example B: I refuse to eat anything that I have pre-determined is gross. My determining grossness of said food item usually has no merit in that I have not tried the food item ever. For whatever reason, I have decided it is gross. Freddie rolls his eyes at me, force-feeds me food, and then voila! I magically like eggplant. And broccoli. And cauliflower. And avocado. And...well, we would be here all day if I kept up this list.

Example C: Five years ago I got a polka dot Kate Spade iPhone case. Black and white polka dots with a  pink border----I mean who would ever need another case in his or her life?! Not me. I bought that case to fit every upgrade of iPhone I've gotten in the past five years. Choose one thing and stick with it forever.

Example C is the example to focus on here because I was recently contacted by CaseApp to customize my own case or skin for my device(s). You can take one of their pre-made designs and take it as is, or even add text or pictures to that. If that doesn't float your boat, you can even completely customize your case or skin by using your own picture(s).

But, but, but...it's not my black and white polka dot/pink bordered Kate Spade phone case!

That's right, it's not.
It's even better.
CaseApp case
I went with the Matching Mix pre-made design because hello? It makes me and my phone look way cooler than we actually are. If I learned anything in public education growing up, it's that you always have to look cooler than you are. CaseApp is helping me live out that lesson.

Since my blog name has the whole word YIPPEE! in there I figured I needed to spruce up this cooler than cool case just a bit. There were so many quotes I could have added, but a simple Hooray! won because Hooray! Life is fun! We should be Hooray-ing at least once a day! Now I can Hooray every time I pick up my phone. Which, according to my husband, is a bajillion times a day. Hooray!

Today (and every day...for the next seven days) CaseApp is offering 20% your order with the code ITSMLE20. Now go get yourself a non-polka dotted Kate Spade phone case. Trust me, it's time.

I was given this item in exchange for an honest review.
And honestly, doesn't my phone look too cool for school now?

long time no nothing

It has been such a long time, y'all. Hopefully everyone survived the absence of Yippee! Since I am still here on earth after yesterday's rapture, I decided it was finally time to write a blog so all of us left behind-ers could enjoy it.

But, seriously...

Last time we spoke we talked about how cool my mom was. Excuse me, IS--How cool she IS. I could wait to write a new post until Father's Day so we could talk about my Daddy-O and post some old school fatty fatty no friends pictures, but I'm not sure my avid readers could survive that long without an update. So, I'm writing and you're welcome.

Who wants a quick review of the past two weeks? (If your answer was "No," then please stop reading here)

1) Once upon a time, Neil Simon wrote this play. Called Rumors. It's kindofreallyseriouslyforreals hilarious and bonus, that mom I was telling y'all all about, yeah she was in it and I got to see it lots of times. I also got a new BFFA (best friend for awhile, duh) outta this shindig, haaaaay Tony! Thanks for playing my mom's husband and coming over to our house and making CD's and eating brie with me. Moral of this story? A great play had great people in it and great people in the audience and we all lived happily ever after.

2) Graduation. Lots of graduations. My Agnes Scottie friends graduated and got to flip dem rings around to face the world. For those of you not in the know yes, flipping Agnes rings is a big deal. Also for those of you not the know, this is how most people pose in graduation photos.
years before the ring flip

3) A week ago it was in the 50's and I wanted to put my flannel sheets back on my bed. 2 days ago it was in the high 90's and I wanted to turn myself into a giant human ice cube. Whattyaknow, once again Georgia is keeping us on our toes. Nice try GA, but I've still got my pointe shoes and I can play this game all summer long.

But please don't be in the 100's all summer...

4) My dad and I are plugging through the new Star Trek movie right now. It's one of those movies where we take a pausesies break every 5 minutes and have a conversation like so:
R: Okay, so Vulcans evolved from the planet Vulcan and have weeded out their violent past and show no emotion.
E: K, their eyebrows look like those other dude's eyebrows.
R: The Romulans? Yes, they share the same ancestors, but the Romulans are still violent.
E: K. (plays movie)
R: Wait, pause. Okay, this Spock looks JUST LIKE the guy who played Spock in the TV series.
E: (plays movie)
R: Wait, pause. Spock and Kirk are good friends. Well, Leonard McCoy too. They're the trio of main characters. They call him Bones though.
E: (plays movie)

Can you guess what happens next? That's right, the explanation of the worm hole/black hole part comes on and I sit with my mouth open in a super duper confused state. Wait, pause break. Okay, time to fully give my attention to Spock. And. James T. Kirk. And Bones man.

BRB in a few days, or weeks, or months. I'm good at drawing out the length of time between each post.
