friday favorites: the where's my personal photographer one

I spent all yesterday thinking it was Friday, and so far today feels like a Wednesday. So I'm looking forward to tomorrow feeling like a...Monday?

Gag, a Saturday Monday would literally be the worst.
May all your Saturdays be anything but Mondays.

Favorite Song
I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness
Enjoy this crap video because it won't let me post the real weird video...
While driving around falling into the pothole-y roads in Houston this week, I found a CD my upper crust friend made for me with songs we looooooooved (add more o's) in middle and high school. This one made the cut, and it may have made me scream sing along in my car. Maybe. Probably. It'll definitely make you scream sing along right now.

Favorite Food
Remember how Freddie and I were watching all the 007 movies and making themed dinners? And we were going to do a movie a week until we got through them all? And we started the first week in January? Guess what number we are on? Guess. We are in week nineteen and we are on movie...THREE. Three. Holl to the er, folks, because we are rocking twenty sixteen, obviously.

Now here's why we are stuck on movie three. Title: Thunderball. Dinner: ummmmm, what? Meatballs and...thunder? We are stuck. So please advise, thank you.

Favorite Houston Factoid
One year ago yesterday I arrived in Houston with my mom after a crazy month of Freddie being in TX, and me being in SC and GA and LA and then TX. 365 days DOWN. Many more days to go. Math is hard.

Favorite Pilates Move
Remember that whole Real Life vs. Fake Life post? Well insert that thought process here because in FL I would have stayed up late last night to take Pilates blog pictures with my personal photographer who would either be my husband and/or a real life photographer who follows me around. However, in RL I did not stay up, I do not have a personal photographer (spoiler alert: I do have a husband), and instead I went to bed because I started teaching at 6am yesterday, and I was tired. The End. So enjoy this picture from a training weekend. Please also note that in FL I wear my matching Lululemon workout clothes to train in. In RL I wear this...weird...but comfortable ensemble.
side note: unless you have a Cadillac, don't try this at home. But please do rotate your spine every day.

Favorite Hug
Favorite hug(s) = plural = anytime with this dude.

Cue the awwwws. Awwwww.

Happy Friday!

on being done, but not being anywhere close to done

I remember walking out of my last final as an undergraduate. It was in the middle of the afternoon, and I still had about a week until graduation. The campus was quiet, and the sun was shining bright because I don't know if you know this, but Georgia is beautiful in May. Beautiful! I stood right outside the door and couldn't do anything. I couldn't do anything because I didn't know what TO do. What do you do after you accomplish something for which you've worked so hard?! Do you cry? Do you run down the street screaming? Do you keep drinking the cup of bubbly you snuck into your final?

I imagine that every single one of you has gone through similar emotions when you (excuse my French) badass it up and accomplish something big. There's that moment, or moments, when you can't believe you are done. When you can't believe that this time of "being completed" has come. Whether it's successfully cooking a hard recipe (pb&j's don't count), graduating high school/college or graduate schools, achieving a career goal, or even finally taking the leap and dyeing your hair a really cool color---all these situations can create the craziest, most exciting, most messed up groupings of feelings. Ever!

Just pretend you are all Pilates nerd for this next paragraph and geek out just a little bit...and maybe Google Lolita so you can really geek out...
I was on (and still am on) that emotional roller coaster the past few days. After thirteen or fourteen (but who's counting?!) months of studying for my comprehensive Pilates certification, I finished. I spent two days down in Florida testing out with the Pilates elder, Lolita San Miguel--one of two elders still alive, and the only living Pilates elder who has a training program. I was getting to soak in the knowledge of an 81-year-old woman who actually trained with Joseph Pilates! The 81-year-old woman who would get up on the equipment and flawlessly demonstrate Joseph Pilates' movements to us. The woman who would run her fingers under my under butt and said, "Emily! Where's your kiss in your glutes? Don't be lazy!"
Lolita's Legacy
We also lounged on the Cadillac. NBD.

This certification was a goal I've had for about six years, and I was finally done with a "hurdle" that had been coming up for months and months. Months during which we moved halfway across the country. Months during which I travelled back to the East Coast every eight weeks to complete my training. Months during which we randomly got the cutest dog (what?! How'd that sentence get in here?) Any time I heard a date for future weddings or future events of 2016, I always classified those dates as BTO and ATO: Before Test Out and After Test Out. I spent countless evenings trying to learn anatomy, memorize the muscles that move every joint every way, and understand the modifications for people who come in with stenosis, sciatica, spinal reconstruction surgery, and just about every other crazy thing that can happen to bodies. I made Ricky test me on flash card after flash card (his favorite!). I ignored Lupe so I could learn movements (and he still managed to crawl into my lap every. single. time). I practiced movements so I could try to get at least one of my arm muscles to look stronger before test out (spoiler alert: I still have baby muscles).

So what do you do when you finish something big?!
You pop some bubbly, of course.

I think we, as Americans (or really anyone anywhere in this day and age), always have to have a plan. We always want to know what's next and to have that next hurdle to jump. You finished something for which you've worked hard?! Awesome. Now go do something else hard! And that's great. I love that attitude! As soon as I finish scrubbing the nasty toilet I'm like Heck yes! What's my next cleaning hurdle?! Baseboards?? But I also think there's something to be said for taking in everything for a hot minute post-big accomplishment. Every feeling, every emotion, every detail of the day you are living. Not letting your brain go to the next thing, but making your brain stay on that feeling of WHAT?! That feeling of I DID IT! That feeling of OMG SLEEP. Even if it's just for a minute or two.

But in my opinion, kids, the adrenaline high is too great to be wasted on sleep!

In my case, I plan to soak in this feeling for at least a week, and then I'll go back to planning my next step of kicking butt Pilates. My next step of life (like do I want to wait seven or eight years to have kids now?!) (Wink. Kidding.) My next goal will come, and I'll start working hard on it.

But for now, champagne and some Ricky/Lupe snuggles are in order. And maybe picking out the wall on which I should hang my diploma...;)

Cheers!
Now after writing a whole post about me me me, I do have to add in that I could not have gotten here without the help, support, and love of SO many people, mentors, and teachers---big time bloggy shout-outs to Mary Ann, Heather, my mother and entire family, Rick Rick, Caroline, and lots of others. <----best group of cheerleaders right there. Congratulations Lynn and Meaghan! In the words of Elle Woods, We did it!

friday favorites: the thrown together one

Do you ever sit around and wonder how it's already April 8? Like really wonder how in the heck we went from January to April so quickly? Or hows about how we went from January 1998 to April 2016 so quickly. Or January 2000 to April 2016. Or January 1989 to April 2016.

Riddle me those and then read on.

Favorite Song
Windows Are Rolled Down by Amos Lee
This song speaks to me. I don't know what that really means, but let's pretend I'm a deep person with deep feelings about this song. Keep calm and listen to this song.

Favorite Food
We've got a friend from Charleston in town this weekend which means HELLO, Texas BBQ. Which means hello, food baby. Which means hello, worth it. Worth it? Is it?
YAH, it is.

Favorite Texas Thing
Texas Bluebonnets are a for real thing...who would have thunk it?
There's this corner near where we live that is covered in bluebonnets. Now take the image you have pictured in your head of a bluebonnet covered corner and multiply that times five or twenty. People go gaga over this bluebonnet infested corner. Families frolicking through the blue babies with their own babies, dogs running around sneezing, tripods and professional cameras set up everywhere. Or actually more like Snapchat open on all the phones. Anyways then there is Freddie taking classy shots without us in it like this winner. How's that for a non-Snapchat pic?

Favorite Pilates Move
Shoulder Bridge.
Let me guess...you sit at a desk, text on your phone, carry a heavy bag or purse, and lounge on your couch all week long. Here is your move to strengthen your booty, give balance to your body by working the posterior chain, and improve posture. Now get on the floor and booty bridge it out!
Pro-tips: think the strength of the glutes lift the hips up vs. the abdominals (or any other muscles) doing the work. Only go up to your shoulders---you should still be able to move your head and neck. Pull that belly button down to your spine. Ain't nobody got time for lower back pain.
Don't splay your ribs and lift your chin like I'm doing...

Favorite Snuggle Buddy
This dude!
Ignore every gross thing about this picture and just focus on LUPE. Snugglin' buggin' on my neck.

Erm, and Freddie...

Happy Friday!

when coffee shops are the new bars

My Friday night this past Friday was pretty rockin'. (In case you were wondering, but of course you were wondering.)

Want to know what went down? I'll start at the very beginning.

...

No, that's too long. Here are the Cliff Notes: when my best upper crust friend came into town to study anatomy with me, she introduced us to the game Dutch Blitz. We played it a lot. She left and our friends bought it and we played a lot. Friday night came around, and Freddie and I gave each other the look.

You know the one. Wink wink. Noooo, not that look. Gross, but the look of Are we going to go buy our own set of Dutch Blitz and play it all night tonight? Did we just become best friends?! Once that look had been exchanged we bought Dutch Blitz, drove to the nearest coffee shop that was still open, and played the game just the to two of us until the barista man closed up shop at nine o'clock.

DID YOU JUST HEAR HOW CRAZY MY FRIDAY NIGHT WAS?!
I failed at getting a picture of said craziness so enjoy this picture of Lupe trying to steal Freddie's toothpick.

As I was sipping on my caramel latte (because apparently I drink coffee now? But that's a story for another time) and sitting across from my hubster (can we bring back that hubby nickname? pls? it's just the right amount of ridiculous), I realized that this is what life slash marriage is all about. This right there. Realizing that coffee shops and card games are almost more fun than bars and not card games (i.e. glasses of vino while ruining your eardrums with the atrocious level of bar music volume).

sidebar (hehe bar, get it?): the past few times we have done the Friday night bar night route, I've just become annoyed because like, Bars! Come on. Maybe I want to be able to hear the person sitting two inches from my face when he/she talks to me! Okay?! I don't enjoy losing my voice faster than a couple of basic teenagers at a Fallout Boy concert (because apparently they are making a comeback just like the word hubster will be making a comeback)

sidebar sidebar: speaking of screaming, we went to a free Twenty One Pilots concert on Saturday, and that was interesting. Lots of face masks and scarves over heads all while playing music, singing, and doing backflips off of the piano. I did not get the memo to wear a crop top/no bra to said free concert, so I need a do-over. But anyways, back to my bra wearing, not boring Friday night.

Choose life people. And by that I mean choose to live your life by picking coffee shops and card games sometimes/all the time on Friday nights.

Other pretty rockin' things going on right now:
- I take my Pilates test out next Thursday. Insert the word terrifying instead of rockin'. Insert vomit.
- Instagram still hasn't changed yet which means the world is still spinning.
- The Final Four is happening in Houston and all I know is that if Villanova wins then Freddie wins some dolla dolla bills so Go Villanova! or whatever people say.
- Did I mention that I my Pilates test out weekend starts in less than two weeks?
- Time to go practice flexing my glenohumeral joint by using my bicep, anterior deltoid, coracobrachialis, and pectoralis major.
-Bam.

friday favorites: here comes santa/peter cottontail

Happy Last Friday of March to you!
Happy Last Friday of March to you!
Happy Last Friday of March to yooooouuuuuuuuuuuuu.
Happy Last Friday of March to you!
^^to be sung to the tune of Happy Birthday...
...or any song of your choice...
...it just might sound weird.

Three more Fridays until my Pilates test out.
::insert sweaty armpits and such here::

Favorite Jam (clarification: music jam, not jam jam) (but strawberry jam would be my favorite)
Let Me Down Easy by Sheppard.
Otherwise known as the song that I can't. stop. singing.

Favorite Food
I feel like when I use the header Favorite Food a full-on recipe is expected. I apologize for the snack food I'm about to show you.
BUT have you tried these?! Have you gotten in your car to go to Kroger to get some right now?! Have you taken a picture of you eating them to post on Inta with the hashtag #omgyum?!
Good.

Favorite Gif That Explains My Face When Freddie Puts On March Madness Instead Of House Of Cards

Favorite Pilates Move
Speaking of March Madness...in the Pilates world it's actually referred to as March Matness which is way cooler. Seriously, next time you're at work but not working (read now), search the hashtag #marchmatness. One day last week was Double Leg Kick. Hello, exercises that work the posterior chain of the body. Hello, side of the body that gets worked the least in today's computer working/phone texting world. Now drop down and give me twenty. Or just two to four.
Let's also say hello to Emily's ginormous neck vein. That is not required to do double leg kick, but it might help some. Who knows.

Favorite Easter Thing I'll Never Actually Make
Where the Peter Cottontail did Easter come from this year?! It was literally just Christmas and I'm still having PTNCTASD: Post Traumatic No Christmas Tree Anymore Stress Disorder. I say all of this to tell you that I have no Easter decorations up right now and I think my housewife card is about to be taken away. Ugh, now I gotta go vacuum in heels AND pearls to make up for it. In the meantime, check out the Easter thing that I wish I had done.

Happy Friday!

friday favorites: the st. patty's day soup

This week went by in the slowest/fastest way possible. Apparently it's Spring Break here in the H-ton which means that one day traffic seems non-existent and the city seems empty, and the next day you feel like everyone and their mom and grandma and grandma's BFF came into town for #sb16, baby.

**Please note I only drive three miles to work so I have no idea what I am talking about when I say traffic.
Moving on.

Favorite Song
Intro to House of Cards. 'Nuff said.
Are you/have you binged watched this season?
Please say yes.
Also apparently this video has the intro looped for ten straight minutes.
Bonus points if you don't stop it.

Favorite Food
Freddie and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day as any good, not-green-but-red-blooded, er Germans, would: with Julia Child's French Onion Soup.
Julia Child French Onion Soup
I love it when Freddie cooks, but I really love it when Freddie cooks this soup. In fact, this picture is from four years ago and it's probably the real reason I got married to him. Honesty is the best policy after all.

Favorite Pilates Move
Open Leg Rocker
Open Leg Rocker
Have you ever slammed on your brakes before? That's cool. Now hows about you slam on your abdominal brakes and get down to massage your spine with some Open Leg Rocker action? Pro-tips: Keep your gaze on your thighs. Pull your belly button to spine, especially when rocking up. <---there's the whole slamming on your abdominal brakes to help you balance at the top. Pull your inner thighs together to help your body find stabilization.

Favorite Target Purchase

I may have gone a bit Target crazy recently. You know what? That's a lie. I only ordered a whopping four items online, but for some reason they all shipped separately. Now I love getting mail just as much as the next Blogger Betty, but sometimes I want all my Target grub in one big box on the same day! Ugh, is that too much to ask, First World, is it? But guys/dudettes/ladies/y'all, when did they get such cute workout gear? No, but seriously, when? I feel like I go in there weekly and somehow I missed all of this new cuteness. Hmmm, I have been pretty bad about wearing my glasses lately always. That must be it.

Favorite Lupe Picture
Yippee Lupe
I think this is the definition of what the kids call PTFO (omg did I use an abbreviation the right way? IKR? LOL. LTIWHCNTW).
God dangit, I love this dog.

friday favorites: the food baby becomes triplets

Let's all agree that this week was long, that we're glad the weekend is here, and that we all need three to four mimosas about now.
Moving on.
Favorite Song
Come Back Song by Darius Rucker.
Oh hey, we're headed to see Darius tonight, Rodeo style, so...don't be jelly, but #neighbors4life.
p.s.- This video makes my heart hurt because I'm not in Chucktown anymore. Whine whine cry cry.

Favorite Food
Friends being in town means my trying new places and/or eating so much my food baby becomes food triplets. These cookies though are worth all the extra work that will come along with triplets instead of an only child. We brought a half dozen of these cookies home and Freddie's response: Wow. These might be the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had.

I added no exclamation points in that quote because men. Am I right? Can never use excitement in their voices, but just know that he meant: WOW!!!!!! These might be the BEST chocolate chip cookies I have EVER had!!!! In my whole entire life!!!!!

Favorite Part Of Rodeo So Far
Two words, lots of love: Wine Garden. Why would anyone choose to crap their pants on a cheaply set-up carnival bungee jump or sit at the Livestock Show where you can get about eleven different whiffs of animal poop when you can sit on the grass, in the shade, in a wine oasis. People, come to Rodeo and find me at the Wine Garden.
I'll be the one looking like this^^^. Holler.

Favorite Pilates Move
We made it to the last exercise in the Ab Series of 5, Criss-Cross. Real talk: how excited are you and how sore are your abs? (I know some delicious chocolate chip cookies that help sore abs...)
Pro-tips: Instead of thinking elbow to opposite knee as you twist, think armpit to opposite thigh. This will help you get a deeper connection in your obliques. Shoulders can try to stack, but keep equal weight under your hips on the floor.
This gif is brought to you by the word forgetful and five minutes ago.

Check out the whole series:

Favorite Purchase
So the other day I was just browsing the Target website (just another Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday night) when I found these babies.
Holy These Boots Were Made For Showing Off I can't wait to get them in the mail, and I will more than likely turn into Grumperella if they don't fit.
Plz fit, shoes.

friday favorites: the synarthrodial one

We did it!
And by it I mean we made it to Friday.
FriYay, am I right or...or nothing. Because I am right on this one.

Favorite Song
Once again Google Play Playlists win at everything. This gem came on the Leap Back: Hits from 1996 playlist and it just makes me want to stand up and dance it out like it is 1996. Which I think I will do now. I was seven years old in 1996 so I'm sure I had some mean dance moves.

Favorite Food
fried oreos
Deep Fried Oreos. Duh.
But also, ew. My stomach is churning just looking at this picture from last weekend.
But maybe hashtag worth it?

Favorite Thing That Makes Me Want To Punch Myself In The Face
studying joints
I'm not sure who named all things anatomy related, but can I just say a big fat SCREW YOU to that dude or gal? Because there are so many things that begin with "syn-" or "sym-," but they're not necessarily directly related to one another and my brain just can't. Can't even. Like why are synovial joints classified under diarthrodial joints and not synarthrodial joints?! Wouldn't the world be a better (and definitely easier) place if all the syn's were together?? Yes. Yes, it would. Don't even get me started on symphysis, synchondroses, and syndesmoses.

You know when people say they are knee deep or waist deep in something? Yeah, well if you can't tell I'm about 5th rib deep in anatomy studying and ugh.

Favorite Pilates Move
double straight leg stretch
Let's step away from the not-so-glamorous side of Pilates certification (cough, anatomy) and move on to the fun part, the movement! We've covered three of the five exercises in the Ab Series of 5---Single Leg Stretch, Double Leg Stretch, and Single Straight Leg Stretch. Today's #4 is the Double Straight Leg Stretch. Hands stacked at the base of the skull and elbows stay wide. Inhale as you lower the legs to YOUR challenge point (i.e.: as far as you can go without buckling your lumbar spine and disconnecting the front of your body), exhale and lift the legs back to 90 degrees. Pro-tips: Breathe, seriously. It will help the movement so much. Don't go too low, seriously. It will do more harm than good.

Favorite Thing Ever
Photo via the year 2008 . Thanks, 2008.
T-minus nine hours until I am picking up Wi at the airport. Which also means t-minus nine and a half hours until we're all eating the shiz out of some fajitas. ! ! ! Did you just hear me say fajitas?!
Do you ever just stand back and watch some of the sweet airport reunions? Yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll be making a scene as one of the airport reunions where nearby people are like Shut. Up. Already.
BUT I'M SO EXCITED TO SQUEAL AND JUMP UP AND DOWN AND NOT SHUT UP!!!!
Read more about adventures with Wi here and here
Side bar: Her real name is Laura. So calm down, I don't have friends with weird names. Or do I?...

Happy Friday!

friday favorites: the oh my rodeo one

Favorite Song
Radio by Darius Rucker.
Rodeo starts this weekend so geeeeeeeeet reeeeeeeeady, Teeeeeeeeexas!
*I still have no idea what Rodeo really is. I'm just acting as excited as every other Texan around me is acting.

Favorite Food
Have you picked up on the fact that holiday candy is my jam? My jim jam, yummy yum favorite thing ever? Well today I would like to introduce you to my favorite Easter candy.

Ugh, sorry brb gotta go grab a handful before I can keep typing. Too. Weak.
While I run and grab another couple, you plan your next outing to Walgreens or CVS or Kroger or wherever the heck ya can get yo'self some of these.

Favorite Pilates Move
Pilates Single Straight Leg Stretch
We got behind last week when I didn't post with our Ab Series of 5 we've been practicing this month. Am I using the right pronoun? We?? And if you haven't been practicing, might I suggest stop reading this sentence and dropping to the floor and doing your single and double leg stretch.

Because today we are moving on to Single Straight Leg Stretch
Pro-tips: all the same as the others. Imagine your belly button sinking deeper towards your spine with every switch of the leg. Keep your chin off of your chest. Find that little "kiss" of your glute when you leg is hovering over the floor.

Favorite Gift
Remember when I/everyone that participated in the Christmas Blogger Exchange with Olya and Mattie begged for a Valentine's gift exchange?
Galentine's blogger exchange
Great success. Ashley from The Wandering Weekenders (who also lives in Houston and probably is excited about Rodeo) gave me the best Galentine's Valentine's gifts ever. Do you know how I long I have wanted the Essie color Ballet Slippers? Because hello, ballerina tattooed on my body over here, but for whatever reason I have never purchased said needed Essie color. Which Ashely obviously knew when she sent me that nail polish along with a bunch of other presents that perfectly define the word, "cutesies."

Favorite Not Favorite Moment Of The Week
I've been having some tests run for some stomach issues I've been having recently. Note: stomach issues is not code for I'm pregnant, so sorry 'bout ya. A-n-y-ways, there I was yesterday on the way to the studio to teach post-doctor appointment. On the way to the studio to teach post-doctor appointment with no exercise pants to change into. On the way to the studio to teach post-doctor appointment with no exercise pants to change into, and a must-be-refrigerated bag of probiotics and a sterile bag with empty tubs meant for my future stool samples.

Eff.
My.
Life.

Don't worry, guys, grown-up Emily managed to buy exercise pants from the studio, put the probiotics in the studio fridge, and carry around my empty stool sample containers all afternoon. Yolo.

FML. YOLO. TMI and all that, right?
LOL?
No?
Still stuck the TMI part?

Happy Friday!

pie lattes

Well hel-a-freaking-lo. A big ol' MY B for zero posts last week.

Oh, what's that? You didn't even notice. Perfect!

You see, last week I was much too busy finishing up my Pilates training to play the role of a so-on-top-of-it-this-is-the-bird's-eye-view-of-my-clothes blogger.

But just in case you're curious, I was rocking the whole homeless fashion look last week.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!
Back up, home girl. Did you say finishing up Pilates training?

I. KNOW. Aren't the cool kids these days just saying ikr? Anyways what the what what what. Yesterday was my last training day for my comprehensive Pilates certification. I spent the past week doing and learning to do this...
And this...
And this...
And this...
That is a whole lotta pictures of me back to back. Sorry 'bout it.

I slept a little and complained a lot. Just so you are aware of all the juicy deets from my past week. But seriously, I've been making some puhretty suggestive noises while foam rolling out my back and shoulders these past few days.

A year ago my group started our comprehensive Pilates training, and since then we've met every eight weeks to continue on to the next system of movement and learning. Here we are in February 2016, and I have eight weeks to cram my brain full of all the Pilates knowledge, history, movement, background, and principles I can possible recall (and all the Pilates movements that I can possibly make my muscles strong enough to actually do) before I fly to Florida in April and test out.

So, that being said, I'm off to go study joint capsules and figure out how to get the lower abdominal strength of Thor's bigger, stronger, and lesser known brother, Sore. Be back when I finally learn how to spell everything anatomy related.

friday favorites: the lurve one

'Twas the Friday before Valentine's Day and all through the house...
Emily had candy stored. For her, not for a mouse.

While rhyming is oh so fun, let's get on with it.
Son.

Favorite Song
Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton
This. On repeat. Non-stop. All I want in life (right now...) is to slow dance in the kitchen to this song. LIKE FO' REAL, Freddie. Come on.

Favorite Food
Strawberry Nutella Pop tarts
This was taken pre-oven time. Trust me, they look a lot more blog worthy post-oven time.
The first Valentine's we were dating I made Freddie Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries. (spoiler alert: one of my good friends in college actually made them, but technicalities). The second Valentine's Day we were dating I made Strawberry Nutella Pop tarts. Then it kind of became a thing where each Valentine's Day I make him some kind of strawberry treat. Here we are now about to celebrate our fourth (?) (math is hard) V-day together and all he talks about are those dang pop tarts. So this thing where I make him strawberry treats is about to become a thing where I only make him Strawberry Nutella Pop tarts. I can dig this thing, and I can also eat all these things
Now go make some things and start your own pop tart V-day thing.

Favorite Valentine's Day Decor
Valentine's candy
My sister sent me this in the mail yesterday. I feel like no other statement should have so much meaning to my husband. I love me some candy.
...
I also love my husband.
But candy.

Favorite Pilates Move
Pilates Double Leg Stretch
In keeping with our February is the month of eating chocolate working abs theme we are going to move from Single Leg Stretch straight into Double Leg Stretch. There are several variations of this move, but let's just focus on this one for now.
Pro-tips: same as before..Keep your tailbone heavy.  Your lower back does not get to imprint on the floor. Gaze down at your low belly while reaching arms and legs out on diagonals to make sure it's staying flat across and not pooching up. B-r-e-a-t-h-e. It's good for you.

Favorite Valentine's Day Card
The amount of time I have spent browsing Etsy for funny Valentine's Day cards is not embarrassing at all. Because it is hashtag necessary and fun. This shop is my absolute favorite shop from which to get cards, and I'm not even getting paid to say that! ! ! That's how freaking fantastic these cards are.
But this one takes the Valentine's Day cake...
Etsy Valentine's cards
